What customers say
Gateron Luciola Linear Switches offer impressive out of box smoothness, eliminating the need for lubrication. Their satisfyingly deep sound profile enhances the typing experience, creating a premium feel. The unique glow in the dark housing adds a distinctive aesthetic appeal. While the light 40g operating force is ideal for fast typists, some users might prefer a heavier option. These switches provide a fantastic, ready to use linear experience with a fun visual element, offering excellent value compared to standard choices. They are a great option for those seeking immediate performance and a unique look.
Know before you buy
No, the Gateron Luciola switches come factory pre-lubed. They are designed to provide a smooth, consistent feel immediately after installation.
These are 5-pin switches. While they are designed for 5-pin PCB mounting, you can use them in a 3-pin hot-swappable board if you clip the two plastic guide pins off the bottom of the switch.
The housing material is engineered to absorb light and emit a glow in low-light conditions. It is a purely aesthetic feature that does not impact the mechanical performance or typing feel of the switch.
The early bottom-out, combined with the long spring, provides a snappy and responsive typing experience. It creates a distinct, firm stop at the end of the keystroke, which many users find helpful for rapid typing and gaming.
Thanks to the combination of a POM stem and Gateron's proprietary ink housing, these switches offer ultra-low friction. This results in a noticeably smoother travel compared to standard polycarbonate or nylon linear switches.
As linear switches, they do not have a tactile bump or a click mechanism, making them quieter than tactile or clicky alternatives. However, they are not 'silent' switches, so they will still produce a standard mechanical sound when bottoming out.
