Unlike traditional springs that offer stepped tension, the nitrogen piston provides continuous, stepless counterbalance. This allows you to precisely dial in the exact weight of your camera rig, ensuring it stays perfectly balanced at any tilt angle without drifting.
The N12 features a 75mm flat base mount, which is designed for versatility. While it attaches easily to flat-base supports, you will need a separate 75mm half-ball adapter if you intend to use it on a bowl-mount tripod system.
The N12 uses a proprietary quick-release plate system designed for the side-lock mechanism. It is not universally compatible with all standard Manfrotto plates, so you should ensure you are using the specific plate included with this head.
The left-sided controls are designed to keep your right hand free to operate the camera's focus, zoom, or lens controls while shooting. This layout allows for more intuitive, ergonomic operation, especially when you are working solo.
The Easy Link connector is a standard 3/8-inch threaded mounting point designed for attaching accessories like external monitors, LED lights, or articulating arms. It does not provide power, so any powered accessories will need their own independent battery source.
The fluid drag system is highly adjustable and designed for smooth, judder-free movement. It performs exceptionally well for slow, controlled pans, even when supporting heavier camera setups near the 26.4 lb maximum capacity.
