What customers say
Durock POM Linear Piano Switches are highly praised for their exceptional smoothness, attributed to the POM housing and stem. Users consistently highlight the satisfying, deep sound profile, often described as thocky or marbly, which sets them apart from standard switches. While the out of box performance is strong, the factory lubrication is frequently noted as inconsistent. Enthusiasts often recommend custom lubrication to fully realize the switch's potential. The striking black and white design is also a positive feature. Overall, these switches deliver a top tier typing experience, offering superb value for those prioritizing smoothness and a rich acoustic signature in their custom builds.
Know before you buy
POM (polyoxymethylene) is known for its low coefficient of friction and high durability. Using it for both the top and bottom housing results in a very smooth keystroke and a distinct, deeper sound profile compared to standard polycarbonate or nylon switches.
These are 5-pin switches, which include two extra plastic guide pins for added stability. If your keyboard PCB only supports 3-pin switches, you can easily clip off the two plastic legs with flush cutters to make them compatible.
These switches offer a balanced 63.5g bottom-out force, providing enough resistance to prevent accidental keypresses while remaining light enough for extended typing sessions. The combination of the POM housing and the mystery material stem creates a uniquely smooth, consistent travel.
The pre-lubed option is ideal if you want a consistent, ready-to-use experience out of the box. Choose the unlubed version if you prefer to apply your own specific lubricant to fine-tune the sound and feel to your personal preference.
Actuation force (48g) is the pressure required to register a keypress, while bottom-out force (63.5g) is the pressure needed to press the key all the way to the bottom. This difference provides a snappy, responsive feel that prevents the keys from feeling mushy.
