Know before you buy
No, this kit is precision-cut specifically for the Brick TKL layout. Using it with other models may result in poor fitment or interference with internal components.
Installation typically requires you to disassemble the keyboard case and remove the PCB from the plate. If your Brick TKL is hot-swappable, you will need to remove the switches to install the plate foam, but you will not need to desolder.
EVA foam provides a slightly firmer, more cushioned typing experience compared to an empty case. It effectively absorbs high-frequency vibrations, which results in a deeper, more muted sound profile.
The plate foam sits between the PCB and the switch plate to dampen the sound of the switches themselves. The case foam sits at the bottom of the keyboard housing to eliminate hollow resonance and echo within the chassis.
While the foam significantly reduces hollowness and sharp metallic resonance, it will not make the keyboard silent. It is designed to refine the acoustic signature rather than eliminate sound entirely.
