The hybrid design means the speaker features a built-in active amplifier specifically to power the bass drivers. This relieves your main amplifier from the heavy lifting of low-frequency reproduction, resulting in cleaner, more controlled bass performance.

The SHOCK-MOUNT system physically decouples the drivers from the cabinet, which prevents vibrations from traveling through the speaker structure. This design significantly reduces coloration and distortion, ensuring you hear the audio signal as purely as possible.

Because the 120H utilizes active bass technology and high-excursion CARBON-X bass cones, it is capable of producing deep, powerful low frequencies on its own. For most listening rooms, these speakers provide enough bass extension that a dedicated subwoofer is not strictly necessary.

These proprietary technologies work together to control sound dispersion. The PPA Lens acts as a phase plug to block out-of-phase frequencies, while the OSW waveguide ensures the sound is directed evenly across your listening area, creating a wider and more natural soundstage.

Not at all. Since the bass section is internally powered by its own built-in amplifier, your external receiver or amplifier only needs to power the midrange and tweeter. This makes the 120H much easier to drive than many other large floorstanding speakers.

To get the most out of the 120H, place them on a stable, level surface and use the included decoupling feet to isolate them from the floor. Because of their wide dispersion characteristics, they perform best when slightly toed-in toward your primary listening position.
