This wok is not pre-seasoned. You will need to perform an initial seasoning process to create a natural non-stick patina and protect the carbon steel from rust before your first use.
Because of its round bottom, this wok will not sit flat on a standard electric or induction cooktop. It is designed primarily for gas ranges or outdoor burners where the wok can sit directly in the flame or on a wok ring.
This wok is not dishwasher safe. After each use, wash it with hot water and a soft brush, dry it thoroughly on the stove over low heat to prevent rust, and apply a very light coating of oil before storing.
The wooden handle is permanently attached and is not intended to be removed. Because of the wooden component, this wok should not be placed in the oven.
A 16-inch wok is quite large and is best suited for those who frequently cook for groups or large families. Ensure your stovetop burner is powerful enough to heat the entire base of the pan effectively before purchasing.
