The XStat™ electrostatic transducer uses a thin, lightweight film suspended between two stators to move air, which provides significantly faster transient response and lower distortion than traditional cone drivers. A dipolar speaker radiates sound equally from the front and back, which helps minimize side-wall reflections and creates a wider, more immersive soundstage. Because of this, these speakers perform best when placed a few feet away from the front wall to allow the rear-firing sound to dissipate naturally.
