Know before you buy
The 15.5 dBic gain significantly increases your signal strength and range compared to standard omnidirectional antennas. It allows you to fly further and maintain a clearer video feed by focusing the signal energy in a specific direction.
This is a directional antenna, meaning it performs best when pointed toward your aircraft. It is ideal for long-range flights or scenarios where you need a stable, high-quality link, but it is not suitable for flying behind or significantly to the sides of your position.
An axial ratio of 1 is considered perfect and indicates that the antenna is highly efficient at rejecting interference and multipath signals. This results in a cleaner, more stable video feed with fewer flickers or dropouts during flight.
The Right-Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) must match the polarization of the antenna on your aircraft. If your drone uses LHCP antennas, you will experience significant signal loss and poor range.
The Gatling features a 65-degree beamwidth. While this provides a decent margin for error, you will still need to keep your aircraft generally within that 65-degree cone to maintain the best signal fidelity.
