Know before you buy
This bed is constructed from solid American Alder hardwoods combined with Alder veneered wood panels. This combination provides both the durability of solid wood and the structural stability of engineered panels.
The McKenzie Classic Rail Bed is designed to support a mattress; however, you will need to use a box spring or a bunkie board to provide the necessary foundation for your mattress, as it does not include a platform slat system.
The bed arrives unassembled and requires a full setup. You will need to attach the headboard, footboard, and side rails, so it is recommended to have two people available to assist with the process.
The bed features adjustable glides on the base. These allow you to fine-tune the level of the frame, ensuring stability even if your bedroom floor is slightly uneven.
Mortise and tenon joinery is a traditional woodworking technique that creates a very strong, interlocking connection between pieces of wood. It significantly enhances the overall stability and longevity of the frame compared to standard screw-and-bracket construction.
