Yes, the mattress and foundation are sold separately. You will need a low-profile foundation or bunkie board to support your mattress properly within the frame.
The four integrated drawers pull out from the side of the bed. Ensure you have at least 20 to 24 inches of open floor space alongside the bed to allow the drawers to fully extend.
Assembly is required and involves connecting the headboard, footboard, side rails, and the storage drawer units. While it is manageable for most, we recommend having two people to help align the frame components during setup.
