The Cloudlifter is specifically designed for dynamic and ribbon microphones that require extra gain. It will not pass phantom power through to a condenser microphone, so it is not intended for that use case.
The Cloudlifter is designed to be transparent, meaning it provides a clean gain boost without adding unwanted noise or changing the character of your microphone's sound.
You simply connect your microphone to the input of the Cloudlifter using an XLR cable, then connect the output of the Cloudlifter to your preamp, mixer, or audio interface.
