98.6°F Outdoor Dining Table
Best statement piece for sophisticated outdoor entertaining.
The 98.6°F Outdoor Collection is named after the body temperature we take for granted as "normal" which is in fact our bodies' highly calibrated ability to balance between a temperature too high or too low. The furniture collection is also deceptively simple in its outward appearance: it is a versatile yet modest collection of wooden chairs and tables for everyday use that has great tectonic sophistication. Crafted at the solar-powered De La Espada factory in Portugal, this table is made from European white oak with a black oil finish. The high tannin content in the oak naturally protects the wood from rot, making it suitable for outdoor use. The black oil finish darkens the grain and deepens the tone of the wood while providing water-repellant protection. Wood furniture used outdoors will age and adopt a beautiful silver grey/dark grey patina over time. Damage can be repaired with relative ease, as the timber can be reapplied with outdoor black oil at any moment.

Know before you buy
Yes. The wood has a naturally high tannin content that provides inherent resistance to rot. The black oil finish adds an essential layer of water repellency, making it durable for outdoor environments.
Like all natural wood furniture kept outdoors, the table will develop a silver-grey or dark grey patina as it ages. You can maintain the original deep black tone by reapplying the outdoor black oil as needed.
Yes. Because the finish is oil-based rather than a synthetic lacquer, you can easily sand and reapply the black oil to specific areas to refresh the surface and hide signs of wear.
Traditional joinery relies on precise wood-to-wood connections rather than just metal hardware. This construction method allows the table to expand and contract naturally with temperature changes, ensuring greater structural integrity over many years.
Beyond periodic oiling to refresh the finish and protect the wood, no specialized maintenance is required. We recommend keeping the surface clean of debris to preserve the integrity of the oil finish.
