Yixing Jing Lan Zi Ni Clay Teapot
Best traditional vessel for discerning tea connoisseurs.
This simple and classic Jing Lan shape teapot was handmade in Yixing using a mixture of original Yixing Zini clay. The body is round allowing your big tea leaves to dance freely, and its small size makes it easy and comfortable to hold in hand. The teapot appears dark brown in color. Zini clay is high in iron components, and its dual porosity structure makes it good for air convection when brewing tea. As you use it, oils from your tea moisturize the pot, which can in turn season it and enhances the flavor of the tea that you use it with over time. For this reason, we recommend dedicating your new Yixing teapot to one type of tea only. Particularly for our Jing Lan Zini clay teapot, we recommend you to dedicate it to fermented tea such as ripe puerh, oolong, black tea, etc. Never wash it with soap or anything else besides water.

Know before you buy
Yixing Zini clay is porous, meaning it absorbs the essential oils and flavors of the tea brewed within it over time. Using it for multiple types of tea can cause flavor cross-contamination, while sticking to one variety helps 'season' the pot and enhances the profile of that specific tea.
This teapot is ideal for fermented or heavily oxidized teas. We recommend using it for ripe puerh, oolong, or black teas, as the clay's properties complement the depth and character of these varieties.
Simply rinse the teapot with hot water after each use and allow it to air dry thoroughly. Never use soap, detergents, or abrasive scrubbers, as these can be absorbed by the clay and permanently ruin the flavor of your future brews.
Yes, 130ml is a classic size for gongfu-style brewing, making it perfect for an individual or a small, intimate tea session. Its compact dimensions are designed for comfort and ease of handling during multiple infusions.
The dual porosity of Yixing Zini clay allows for superior air convection during the brewing process. This helps maintain a consistent temperature and allows the tea leaves to breathe, which can lead to a smoother, more balanced cup.
