Know before you buy
The warmth of your hands is the key. Simply place the wrap over your bowl or around your food and press firmly for a few seconds; the heat from your palms softens the beeswax, allowing it to mold and create a secure seal.
Wash them by hand using cool water and a mild, eco-friendly dish soap. Avoid hot water, microwaves, and dishwashers, as high temperatures will melt the beeswax coating and ruin the wrap.
It is not recommended to use beeswax wraps for raw meat or fish. Because they cannot be washed in hot water or sanitized with harsh cleaners, they are best suited for produce, cheese, bread, and dry snacks.
With proper care and regular use, these wraps generally last between 12 and 18 months. Once they lose their ability to cling or start to fray, they are fully biodegradable and can be composted.
You may notice a faint, pleasant scent of beeswax when you first use them, but this does not transfer to your food. The wraps are designed to be food-safe and will not leave a sticky residue on your items.
