Know before you buy
The gel contains indoxacarb, a non-repellent active ingredient that ants consume and carry back to the nest. Because it is slow-acting, the ants have enough time to share the bait with the queen and other colony members, leading to the collapse of the entire population.
Advion is highly effective against a broad spectrum of ant species, including Argentine, ghost, pavement, and pharaoh ants. However, it is specifically formulated for sugar-feeding ants and may be less effective against species that primarily hunt for proteins or fats.
Apply small, pea-sized dots of the gel along ant trails, near entry points, or in cracks and crevices where you see activity. Avoid placing the gel in areas you have recently treated with a spray insecticide, as this can repel the ants and prevent them from taking the bait.
While the gel is designed to be applied in small quantities in hard-to-reach areas, it should always be placed out of reach of children and pets. Once the gel is applied into cracks or behind fixtures, it is generally inaccessible, but you should still exercise caution during application.
You should notice a significant decrease in ant activity within a few days of application. It is normal to see an initial increase in ants around the bait stations as they discover the food source before the colony begins to decline.
