Sweet Mockorange

Best fragrant shrub for adding elegant, aromatic beauty to any garden.

This deciduous shrub offers a profusion of richly scented, cup-shaped white flowers in early summer, nestled among finely toothed, bright green foliage. It thrives in moderately fertile, well-drained soil and prefers full sun to light shade, making it suitable for dry conditions. Originating from Europe, this commonly known species has been in cultivation since at least the sixteenth century. Jefferson documented planting it at Monticello in 1807. The plant ships bare root, approximately 18 inches tall and branched.
