The iconic fenestrations, or splits, are a sign of maturity and light exposure. If your plant is young or not receiving enough bright, indirect light, the leaves will remain solid; provide more light to encourage the development of these characteristic patterns as the plant grows.

While the Monstera Deliciosa can reach significant heights in the wild, indoor growth is more contained. Plan for a footprint of at least 3 to 4 feet in diameter to allow the plant's wide, heart-shaped leaves enough room to spread comfortably.

While not strictly required, providing a moss pole or support stake mimics the plant's natural climbing habit in the rainforest. This support encourages the plant to grow upward rather than outward and often results in larger, more dramatic leaf development.

The Monstera Deliciosa prefers moderate watering. Allow the top few inches of soil to dry out completely before watering again, and ensure your pot has adequate drainage to prevent water from sitting at the roots.

While the Monstera is adaptable, it thrives best in bright, indirect light. In low-light conditions, the plant will grow much slower and may produce smaller leaves with fewer or no fenestrations.

This tropical plant prefers warm, humid environments between 70°F and 90°F. Keep it away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, or heaters, which can dry out the foliage and stunt growth.
