Pentair D.E. Separation Tank

A separation tank is designed to capture D.E. (Diatomaceous Earth) media during the filter backwashing process. It prevents the used D.E. from being discharged directly into your yard or drainage system, keeping your pool area clean and compliant with local environmental regulations.

This model is designed to hold up to 20 pounds of D.E. media. This capacity is sufficient for most standard residential in-ground pool filtration systems.

This unit features 2" x 2-1/2" unionized fittings. You should verify your current plumbing size to ensure a proper fit, though these are standard dimensions for many in-ground pool setups.

Maintenance is straightforward thanks to the quarter-turn locking ring, which allows for quick access to the interior. The tank also includes a 1-1/2" drain cap and washout feature, making it easy to rinse out the debris bag and flush the system.

Because this is an in-ground pool application, ensure you have adequate space near your filter system for the tank. It is built from durable, single-piece fiberglass reinforced polypropylene, so it is robust, but it should be installed on a level, stable surface.

The continuous internal air relief system works alongside the high-flow manual valve to automatically purge trapped air from the tank during operation. This prevents air pockets from building up, which ensures consistent filtration performance and protects the system from pressure-related issues.
