What customers say
Customers generally praise the Sipeed NanoKVM for its impressive value and functional remote management capabilities. Many highlight its compact design and the ability to access systems remotely, even at the BIOS level, as a significant advantage for its price. While initial setup can present a learning curve for some, particularly those less familiar with network configurations, the device reliably performs its core task once configured. Users appreciate the cost effective solution it offers for managing multiple machines without direct physical access, making it a strong contender for homelab or small server environments.
Know before you buy
The NanoKVM-PCIe is a remote management tool that allows you to control, monitor, and troubleshoot a computer over a network. It acts as a bridge, letting you access the BIOS, OS, and desktop of a remote machine as if you were sitting directly in front of it.
It comes with a built-in 100M/10M Ethernet port for a stable, hardwired connection, which is recommended for reliable remote access. However, you can add an optional WiFi module if you need wireless connectivity.
The board supports an optional PoE (Power over Ethernet) module. If you install this module, you can power the NanoKVM-PCIe directly through your network switch, eliminating the need for a separate power cable.
The device supports video encoding in both MJPEG and H264 formats, capable of delivering up to 1080P resolution at 60fps. This ensures smooth visual feedback with low latency for standard maintenance tasks.
The 1TOPS NPU is primarily included for AI acceleration tasks, which may be useful if you plan to use the board for custom automation or computer vision projects. For basic remote KVM functionality, it remains an optional resource that doesn't interfere with standard operation.
Because the NanoKVM-PCIe functions as a hardware-level interface, it is OS-agnostic. It interacts with the target machine's HDMI and USB ports, meaning it will work regardless of whether the host computer is running Windows, Linux, or macOS.
