INSTRUO Cruïnn
Best creative tool for advanced modular synthesis enthusiasts.
The Instruo Cruïnn is a specialized analog stereo oscillator designed for generating rich supersaw and swarm textures. It excels at creating fat sawtooth sounds, deep pads, and phasic basses, drawing inspiration from classic Roland JP-8000 supersaw oscillators. The module features Thru-Zero phase modulation, producing a primary sawtooth wave surrounded by five phase-shifted variations. Each of these can be modulated by its own LFO, adding significant movement and depth. The Cruïnn includes a built-in stereo VCA for dynamic panning and a mono sum output. It also offers an LFO mode and a switchable linear/exponential FM input. An included expander provides individual outputs for all six sawtooths and CV inputs for modulating waveform phase.

Know before you buy
The Cruïnn is an analog supersaw oscillator designed to produce thick, lush textures inspired by classic Roland JP-8000 sounds. It excels at creating expansive pads, phasic basses, and dense, harmonically rich sawtooth leads.
The module generates a primary sawtooth wave alongside five phase-shifted variations. By modulating these variations—either manually or via the internal LFOs—you can create complex, evolving stereo movement and deep, swirling harmonic content.
While the main module provides a stereo output and a mono sum, the 4TE expander is essential if you want to process the six sawtooth waves individually. It also provides dedicated CV inputs for phase modulation, which significantly expands the module's sound design potential.
Yes, the module features a dedicated LFO mode, allowing you to repurpose the oscillator for low-frequency modulation tasks. This makes it a versatile addition to a rack, serving as both a sound source and a modulation tool.
The module draws 180 mA on both the +12V and -12V rails. It is a moderately power-hungry module, so ensure your power supply has sufficient headroom before installation.
The built-in stereo VCA is integrated into the signal path to facilitate dynamic panning and amplitude control. It is designed to simplify your patch by reducing the need for external VCA modules when working with stereo patches.
