Double Delights Wedding Gown Lacecap Hydrangea
Best elegant bloom for enhancing sophisticated garden landscapes.
Bearing flowers that bring a new look to lacecap Hydrangeas, Wedding Gown produces large clusters of what we think are some of the most beautiful flowers we've ever seen on a hydrangea...perfect for use in bridal bouquets. Wedding Gown is unique in that its showy, double, pristine white sterile florets droop from long but graceful peduncles arranged in an outer ring surrounding a large clump of much smaller double white to soft green florets in the center of the flower head with total of about 600 florets per inflorescence! Get all the details below The flowers on the Wedding Gown Hydrangea stand out remarkably well against the 3 feet tall by 4 feet wide mound of 6 inch long deep green leaves. The 4 to 6 inch diameter flower clusters are produced on both old and new wood. If the first flush of flowers are deadheaded new buds form that open and take the flower show through summer into early fall. The flowers are excellent for cutting and provide a long-lasting display in your favorite vase. Growing in a mound 3 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide, the Wedding Gown Hydrangea is ideal for use as an accent, in groupings or as a colorful low hedge in shady to partially shaded landscape borders, home foundation plantings, and perennial gardens. Also suitable for growing in somewhat large containers of 14 inches or more in diameter. A fine addition to Hydrangea gardens, white theme gardens, shade and woodland gardens, cut flower gardens and cottage gardens.

Know before you buy
This variety is versatile because it blooms on both old and new wood. This means you will get a reliable flower display even if you experience a late frost or prune the plant at the wrong time.
Yes, it is well-suited for containers. Use a pot that is at least 14 inches in diameter to ensure the root system has enough room to thrive.
To extend the flowering season, simply deadhead the first flush of blooms once they begin to fade. This encourages the plant to produce new buds that will open throughout the summer and into early autumn.
While no plant is completely deer-proof, Wedding Gown is noted for being deer resistant. It is a great choice if you have issues with local wildlife browsing your garden.
It performs best in locations with morning sun and afternoon shade, or all-day filtered sun. Avoid harsh, direct afternoon sun, especially in warmer climates, to prevent leaf scorch.
For a solid, continuous hedge, space your plants 3 feet apart. If you prefer to see the individual mounding shape of each shrub, space them at least 7 feet apart.
