While they are aesthetically matched to the Definitive Technology BP9000 series, they can technically be placed on any flat-topped speaker. However, for the best sonic and visual integration, they are optimized to pair with Definitive Technology towers.
Ceiling height and material are critical. These modules work best with flat, reflective ceilings between 7.5 and 12 feet high; vaulted, textured, or acoustic-tiled ceilings will scatter the sound and significantly reduce the immersive effect.
Yes, you will need an AV receiver that supports Dolby Atmos and has enough spare channels to power these modules. They are passive speakers, meaning they require a dedicated speaker wire connection from your receiver's 'Height' or 'Atmos' output terminals.
