While the lightweight Caruba core makes it an excellent choice for backcountry touring, it is fully capable of handling resort days. Just keep in mind that its lightweight construction means it may feel less damp and stable at high speeds on hard-packed groomers compared to a heavier, metal-laminate ski.

Smear Tech is a 3D base bevel in the tip and tail that allows the ski to pivot and release more easily in deep, soft snow. It prevents the edges from hooking, giving you a surfy, loose feel that makes it much easier to slash turns and butter in powder.

The AR75 sidewall construction provides decent edge grip, but this ski is designed primarily for soft snow and powder performance. If you spend most of your time on ice or hard-pack, you might find the 116mm waist width and rocker profile less responsive than a narrower, stiffer carving ski.
