FLAIR 58x Espresso Maker (non-electric)

Best manual espresso maker for hands-on enthusiasts seeking professional-grade control.

The Flair 58X is the non-electric version of the Flair 58, perfect for those who love the Flair experience without the need for cables. It features Flair's first industry-standard 58mm bottomless portafilter, a more robust frame, and a wider base for enhanced comfort and leverage with its new lever design. This fully manual machine allows for thermal management using included preheat caps (open or closed). Enjoy a wooden handle for advanced ergonomics and compatibility with standard 58mm portafilter baskets, tamping, and distribution tools. The low-flow 18-gram basket is ideal for home brewers, allowing a dose range of 16-22 grams and a coarser grind for easier dial-in. The high-flow basket requires a grind similar to commercial machines. Crafted with stainless steel components for plastic-free extraction and a die-cast aluminum frame for durability, it boasts a light wood finish. The reinforced frame, longer arm, wider base, and new T-handle provide superior leverage, comfort, and control at higher pressures. The group design allows the lever to be re-lifted after extraction without creating suction, enabling faster consecutive shots. It comes with a bottomless portafilter (58mm), 18g single filter basket, 58 puck screen, pressure gauge, tamper (58mm), and an ABS cup rest/drip tray. The current stock includes a new valve system, a modernized hook to hold the plunger, and an accessory for secure extraction unit holding. Please note that misuse is not covered by the warranty, and a specialized espresso grinder is required.

What customers say

Enthusiasts overwhelmingly praise the Flair 58x for delivering exceptional, café-quality espresso, rivaling much costlier machines. A key advantage is the standard 58mm portafilter, enabling seamless integration of professional accessories. Build quality is robust, featuring premium materials like stainless steel and wood accents. The core appeal centers on the tactile, hands-on experience and unparalleled control over pressure profiling, allowing serious users to achieve precise results. The main friction point is the manual preheating required for temperature stability, which demands a dedicated ritual. Despite this demanding workflow, users agree that the resulting espresso quality offers outstanding value for those embracing the manual process, solidifying its status as a top-tier manual lever device.
