The Emit 50 is a large floorstanding speaker designed to move a significant amount of air. While they excel in medium-to-large rooms, you should ensure you have enough physical space to place them away from walls to prevent the rear-ported bass from becoming overwhelming.
By isolating the midrange frequencies into a dedicated 6-inch driver, the speaker avoids the distortion that can occur when woofers try to handle vocals. This results in much clearer, more natural-sounding instruments and voices that don't get lost in the bass or treble.
For most music listening, the dual 7-inch woofers provide deep, punchy bass that reaches down to 40Hz, making a subwoofer unnecessary for a standard stereo setup. If you are building a dedicated home theater system and want extreme low-frequency impact for movies, you might consider adding one.
The Hexis is an internal dome located behind the soft-dome tweeter that helps smooth out the frequency response and eliminate unwanted internal resonances. This ensures the high frequencies remain detailed and clear without ever sounding harsh or fatiguing during long listening sessions.
