Know before you buy
It means the cartridge is already attached to the Ortofon SH-4 headshell and aligned at the factory. You simply need to plug the headshell into your tonearm, balance the tracking force, and adjust the anti-skating to start playing.
This unit is designed specifically for turntables with an S-shaped tonearm that uses a standard H-4 bayonet mount. If your turntable has a straight tonearm or a fixed headshell, this premounted version will not be compatible.
The 2M Blue uses a Nude Elliptical stylus, which is a higher-quality diamond construction than the bonded stylus found on the 2M Red. This results in better detail retrieval, improved tracking, and a more refined, dynamic sound across the frequency range.
The tracking force range is 1.6 to 2.0 grams. For the best balance of tracking ability and sound quality, we recommend setting it to the manufacturer's suggested 1.8 grams.
Yes, the 2M series allows for stylus interchangeability. If you decide to upgrade in the future, you can swap the 2M Blue stylus for a 2M Bronze or 2M Black stylus, as they share the same cartridge body.
